ka-Map - Mailing Lists
Users Mailing List
The ka-Map mailing list is the definitive resource for users and developers to exchange
ideas, report problems, ask questions, discuss new features, make suggestions and post
links to cool applications that were made with ka-Map. All new contributions and questions will
be seen by all the list subscribers, including the owners and maintainers of ka-Map.
Users Mailing List Subscription
Only users subscribed to the ka-Map users e-mail list can contribute comments or post questions.
To subscribe, visit the subscription
page and fill out the requested information.
All discussions are stored in an archive and are fully searchable at any time without a subscription.
Submitting Questions and Comments
To contribute to the list or ask questions, simply send them in an e-mail messages to
ka-map-users@lists.maptools.org.
Please avoid emailing the developers directly about problems and questions, so the rest of the user
group can benefit from the discussion. Before posting a question to the list please
search the
mailing list archive to see if answers to the problem can be found. New users may find this
to be a valuable resource, and should feel free to ask questions if they cannot find satisfactory
answers in the archive.
Developers Mailing List Subscription
The developers list is not for the faint of heart ... all cvs commits and bugzilla notifications go to users on this list. It is intended primarily for those users who have commit access to cvs, but may include power users and code contributors. Only users subscribed to the ka-Map-dev e-mail list can contribute comments or post questions. To subscribe, visit the subscription
page and fill out the requested information.
All discussions are stored in an archive and are fully searchable at any time without a subscription.
Internet Relay Chat (IRC)
IRC allows users to ask questions to other users and developers. Here is the channel information:
- Server: irc.freenode.net
- Channel: #kamap
Chatzilla is probably the easiest way to get going with IRC. Chatzilla works with Mozilla or Firefox, and once you have it installed, you can log on to the channel by pointing your browser at: irc://irc.freenode.net/#kamap
